We are an authorised Quantec Systems installer

Here at APS we have several years of experience at commissioning and installing reliable and cost effective Disabled Refuge Systems that meet BS 5839-9 standards.
All non-domestic buildings with more than one storey must, by law, have a refuge point at which anyone who cannot easily use a fire escape or stairs during an emergency can wait in relative safety for help to escape and there must be an effective two way means of communication in place at that point.
These systems come in two types;
Type A – Fire Telephone Outstations
These systems comprise of a telephone handset, usually in a lockable steel cabinet, typically located at entrances and fire-fighting lobbies and allow fire marshals to communicate with building control during an emergency.
Type B – Disabled Refuge Outstations
Type B are intercom style outstations that offer hands-free duplex speech to allow anyone in a refuge area to communicate with building control at the touch of a button and include connections for an optional induction loop system
Our Disabled Refuge Systems include:
- SigTEL 4-64 Line Controllers. Comprising of two wall-mounting master controllers (ECU-4 and ECU-8, handling 4 and 8 lines respectively) and with an eight-line expansion unit these would be located in a building’s control room or fire services access point. This system allows you and/or the fire services to communicate via a telephone-style handset with the system’s outstations.
- SigTEL 16-128 Line Controllers. C-TEC’s 16-128 line system utilises both Type A and Type B outstations. Comprising of one CCU-16 16 line Master Control Unit, up to seven 16 line Expansion Units, and separate ECU Desk Controller is also required to allow operators to communicate with the system’s outstations.
- 12V Xenon Strobes. Our strobes can be interfaced to a Type A or Type B outstation to provide visual notification of incoming calls. Each one requires a SDM Driver Module and 12V 1A PSU.
APS can also offer a maintenance programme to regularly check that your safety system is in line with regulations and working to full capacity Whatever type of building you have, we can offer a package to suit your requirements and budget.
