Even though the first ultra HD surveillance cameras were developed by Hikvision, adaptation has been slow. This has been due to the huge transmission bandwidth and storage capacity required for operation.

To solve this problem Hikivision has developed H.265+ which provides lower bandwith usages and storage saving performance and is optimised for surveillance video applications.
